Struck in 2017 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the 1817 Sovereign, showcasing Pistrucci’s iconic design of St George slaying the dragon. The reverse design includes a plumed-helmeted St George and the dragon, encircled by the Order of the Garter’s motto, "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE," inscribed on a buckle. This phrase translates to "Evil be to he that evil thinks" in English, reflecting the chivalric origins of the Order of the Garter.
This marked the first time since 1820 that Benedetto Pistrucci’s original masterpiece, complete with its full inscription, was used on a coin featuring a member of the Sovereign family.
