IND: IMP:", which translates to "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."

This half-sovereign was part of both long and short gold proof sets issued for George V's coronation. The brilliant proof finish had regained popularity by this time. Mackennal, who designed the obverse portrait, was also responsible for creating the Coronation Medal for King George V and the monarch's effigy on British coinage and stamps.
The coin is becoming increasingly scarce in the UK market, making it a valuable addition to any numismatic collection.
