William IV was the third son of George III and ascended the throne after the death of his brother, George IV. The majority of his nearly seven-year reign was dominated by the reform crisis, which saw the introduction of the Great Reform Bill, giving the British people a more accurate representation in parliament.

This William IV Groat is year-dated 1836 and has been graded as AU75. The obverse features the coinage portrait of William IV designed by the legendary William Wyon RA. The reverse features a design of a seated Britannia facing to the right, holding a trident and a shield.
