• The Royal Mint Experience will be transformed into Santa's magical workshop once again this year.

The Royal Mint Experience, based in Llantrisant South Wales, has announced the return of its Christmas extravaganza, with the award-winning tourist attraction being transformed into Santa’s magical workshop once again this year.

From coins in Christmas stockings to sixpences stirred into Christmas puddings, coins have a long association with Christmas. The centuries old tradition is the inspiration behind this year’s magical Christmas event at The Royal Mint Experience.

Dan Johnson, Visitor Attraction Manager at The Royal Mint Experience said: “With the big day just around the corner, we are thrilled to announce that The Royal Mint Experience will once again transform into Santa’s magical workshop. Visitors will be able to follow in his snowy footsteps as he collects coins for the nation’s stockings and can strike their very own Snowman 50p coin. Most importantly, Santa will be at The Royal Mint Experience to meet visitors!”

In the lead up to Christmas, The Royal Mint Experience is set to be transformed into a magical workshop covered in a dusting of snow and adorned with hundreds of lights, baubles, and festive surprises. Visitors will follow a light tunnel through to the factory where they will see the elves hard at work creating the nation’s coins. Guests will also be able to strike their own coin, before exploring the unique 1,100-year history of The Royal Mint through interactive exhibitions and original artefacts.

Festive Markets will also be in attendance on 25th November, 26th November, and 17th December, including a range of independent traders who will be on site selling a festive treats and gifts, and a Vintage Fun Fair. The Fun Fair will run daily between 4pm - 8pm Monday to Thursday, and between 10am - 8pm on Weekends.

Christmas at The Royal Mint Experience runs from 25th November to 24th December, with tickets priced at £12.50 per adult and £17.50 per child. Tours will run between 12pm - 8pm Monday to Thursday and 9am - 8pm Friday to Sunday, parking on site is free. A special festive menu will be available at the café, with a range of Christmas treats including mince pies and mulled wine.
